My name is Ellis and I'm an illustrator based in Leicestershire, UK. Coffee lover and friend to unicorns. Forever inspired by animals, plants and slow living. I used to work with traditional materials until 2016, when I turned to digital art after a hand accident. I severed the extensor tendon in my drawing hand and had to learn to write and draw again, which has been a strange and tough journey but it didn't stop me from chasing my dream of becoming a full time illustrator.
I quit my job in the summer of 2017 to pursue my art and I now work from my home based studio.
One of my more recent ventures has been getting my designs printed onto fabric and from there I have self taught how to create little bags and accessories, all of which I hand make myself in my studio using my trusty sewing machine. I order the fabric and supplies in small batches to keep waste to a minimum, whilst also using offcut scraps for scrunchies or personal projects just as quilting.
In my spare time, you can usually find me with my fingers in too many crafting pies, exercising or singing Disney villain music.
This is Team Woolley, my wonderful little family - my husband James and then we have Vespa our little Yorkie who is our Stock Control Manager and Custard our Miniature Schnauzer, who reminds us when it's time for coffee and a biscuit.
